Thank you to my loyal readers.

Tuesday, May 22, 2012

Let me just say, it's not easy to finish writing a novel, but it's even harder to put yourself out there and share that story with everyone. It's terrifying, actually. So I wanted to say THANK YOU to those of you who've taken the time to post good reviews for me, and contact me for interviews, and send me messages on my blog, Twitter, and Facebook. I'm extremely grateful because, even though I've finished 5 books so far, I really couldn't keep going without the support of kind readers and reviewers. There are times when my inner recluse whispers that I should keep writing, because I love it so much, but stop sharing those stories and just keep them all to myself!

As you support me with your generous messages, and reviews posted on Goodreads, and Amazon, I'll be able to wrestle back the bashful girl inside of me and keep sharing the stuff going on inside my head...it's getting to be a crowded place...but hideaways like these sure do tempt me. Just give me a place like this, a computer, Internet access, an endless supply of herbal tea and fairy cakes, all of the voices in my brain, and I'd be set.

Please take a look at two of my most recent reviews/interviews...Thanks Krystal and Kathy! xoxo

More praise for The Fateful Trilogy:
(I'm sending out a special cyber hug to LadyLayla, Lexie, and Daniellee for taking the time to post these reviews for me. Thank you!)

~from LadyLayla
This series has everything in it.. from fairies to vamps and it will not dissapoint! Love, suspense, everything is possible here and you will be held on the edge of your seat unable to put the books down! Truly remarkable loveable series that I personally would love to see on the big screen! Well done!

~from Lexie
Wow. What an amazing way to end the series. Sometimes authors have trouble tying up all the loose ends in a story but Cheri didnt. This book is completely amazing and perfect. Without giving anything away, this story has an ending i didnt see coming along with twists around every corner. I could not put this book down. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as i did.

~ from Daniellee in the UK
I don't even know where to start, this book utterly shocked me, when I first bought it I thought it's just going to be another book trying to beat twilights standards, and my god, it beat it alright! I'm a big fan of vampire romance novels and by far this is one of my favourites I have read yet! I completely fell in love with the characters, and my friends even thought I'd lost all contact with the world because I never had my head out my kindle! I don't think I even have words to describe how truly amazing this book really is, and the follow on is just as good! It is completely worth buying, and I really don't think I am able to wait for the 3rd book forever!

(If you missed the free promo of Fateful, I'm sorry...but I'll tell you a secret. If you like what you see in the free preview, then pick up The Fateful Trilogy as a set. It's just like getting Fateful for free, and you can read them back to back.)

And don't miss the cookbook based on this series. It's only .99 cents! If you're lucky enough to have a computer in your kitchen, download the free PC app from Amazon and you can just pull up the recipe you need while in your kitchen. Or do what I did, and just put your kindle right on your cookbook stand! LOL

Please note: This series is not suitable for anyone who doesn't like glittering fairies, vicious pixies, hot vampires, the dashing Mr. Darcy, arachnids, or large amounts of snogging...

YA Indie Carnival ~ Graduation

Friday, May 18, 2012

I don't have any excerpts to share about graduation, but I do have a student graduating this year!

You may know her as well! She's the model on The Fateful Trilogy book covers. As my biggest fan, she really wanted to do it, and I think she did a great job! In fact, Fateful was dedicated to her.

Congratulations, Megan!!! I'm so very proud of you! She's a photogenic beauty, a smart senior graduate, a super smart mathematician, a talented hula dancer, a dangerous black belt, and a creative crafting friend and artist. (Yes! She's actually good at math AND art, believe it or not!) I don't know what I'd do without her. Unfortunately, I'm going to find out when she goes off to collage... : (

(She is also the model holding the book in the photo below.)

Mother's Day - New Book

Sunday, May 13, 2012

This is Drew, Cheri's Husband. It's Mother's Day and Cheri has a new book out. I spent a good portion of Saturday formatting it and getting it converted over to the Kindle Format for her. So Happy Mother's Day to Cheri and all the rest of you mothers and mothers to be out there.

For today our girls, her daughters, are making her dinner and dessert. Now to give you a little bit of insight I'll let you in on a secret. For dinner, she requested Chicken Picatta. It's one of the recipes that found it's way into Sophia's Cookbook. It's also one of her favorites. We normally make it for her birthday and Mother's Day!

For desert she's requested Fairy Cakes. These are about the most unmanly cakes around. First, they are called FAIRY CAKES. Second, they are really glorified cupcakes but you can't eat them with your hands. You really need a plate and fork. Trust me, I've tried...when she wasn't looking... And even then, I was standing over the sink and then had to wash my hands when I was done. Yet even after all of my complaining, I'll have to admit, these are TASTY!!! Really tasty. And they can also be found in Sophia's Cookbook for Mortals. And while they look rather complicated to make, they aren't that bad.

If you have read Cheri's books, you may have realized we like to cook and we like food. A good portion of these recipes are ones that our family loves. So Happy Mother's Day to everyone! A special Happy Mother's Day to my wife! And if you like her books, tell her thank you by picking up a copy of Sophia's Cookbook for Mortals. It's only 99 cents!

Fairy Cakes

Sophia's Cookbook for Mortals is now available on Amazon for the Kindle.

In about two weeks we should have a printed version available as well!

Happy Mother's Day!!! ~Free Recipe

(If you're here for the Giveaway Hops, please scroll down to the next two posts.)

Update: A small change in plans... Sophia's Cookbook has been uploaded and is now available for purchase. (Click on the book cover below to buy it now!) Sorry, but I missed the schedule for the free promo on Fateful. Prom for my senior go in the way! Check back soon, the free promo of Fateful will be rescheduled for some time later this week. ;)

For this Mother's Day, I'm announcing the release of Sophia's Cookbook for Mortals for only .99 cents on Amazon!

In Fateful you get to know a vampire named Sophia. She absolutely loves to cook for her mortal friends and that's what this cookbook is all about. This book contains actual recipes that tie into the series and show you how she slimes the pretty apron she wears. This cookbook includes a variety of recipes, including: finger foods, teatime treats, fairy-influenced fair, and some of Ethan and Danielle's favorites, such as Ethan's triple-layer chocolate cake. Here is one free recipe from the book: (Enjoy!)

Magic Fairy Juice

This is very much like the juice the fairies gave to Ethan and Danielle to heal them—minus the magic, of course.
You’ll need:
8 tablespoons lime juice (bottled or about 4 limes, juiced)
3/4 cups to 1 cup superfine sugar (or granulated)
8 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
6 cups water
1/2 pint fresh strawberries, chopped
1/2 pint fresh raspberries

Directions:
Mix water with sugar. Stir to dissolve sugar, and then chill. Once it’s chilled, add the lime juice to the water and sugar mixture, then add the sweetened condensed milk. Lightly mash the strawberries and raspberries. In each glass, add ice, 1-2 spoonfuls of berries, and then limeade. Serve immediately over ice. Hopefully you won’t suffer too many side effects from the fairy magic.

If you happen to be one of the lucky women getting a Kindle for Mother's Day, then please snatch up your .99 cent cookbook!  (If you don't have a Kindle, then you can still enjoy this cookbook! Amazon has many free apps to help you out with that. For example, if you have a PC in your kitchen, then you could simply download the PC app and pull the recipes up that way.) If you'd rather have your cookbooks in print, then watch for the release of the spiral-bound version, which will be out as soon as I approve the proof copy from the publisher.

YA Indie Carnival ~ The Big Tease...or a little one...

Friday, May 4, 2012

Max is a vampire knight from The Fateful Trilogy. He was one of the first knights to join The Order that Beon and Seth started. To get to know him, and see why he's probably one of my most popular characters--deserving his own story--then check out The Fateful Trilogy by clicking on the book cover on the left.

Here is the first paragraph from Max and Nadia's story:

“Why can’t you just let me die in peace?” rasped Max using up a large measure of his waning strength, resenting the men standing beside his bed for making him force out the words at all. Drawing a breath that wheezed into his failing lungs, and rattled on its way back out, Max closed his eyes again.

All right, I won't tease you too much... Want more?
Visit this post to read the entire opening scene of their story!
