A Shade of Vampire by Bella Forrest: I knew this series was selling really well, so I had to see what the excitement was all about. I really like this a lot! Enough so that I quickly bought book two. But then, as I just said, I was disappointed. The covers are totally cool too!

A Shade of Blood by Bella Forrest: This is book two in the Shade of Vampire series. The narrator from 4 different actors was really great, especially Zackary Webber. He is amazing. I didn't like book two as much book one, so I haven't moved on to book three yet. And the love seen is this one really put me off. There was no emotion to it. To me, just not romantic at all, and I thought the plot dragged. I actually started skipping ahead.

Dragon Dreams by Dusty Holloway: Would you like something that takes you into a world reminiscent of Lord of the Rings? Then this is it. Loved the way the narrator, Rob Goll, performed the dwarf and the dragon. He really brought me into the story.

The Prince of Midnight by Laura Kinsale: This is the first book I've ever listened to that was narrated by Nicolas Boulton, and now I'm hooked. I loved listening to him. The story was a bit long for me though...over 15 hours? But very well written.

Finding Cinderella by Colleen Hoover: The plot in this story is absolutely brilliant. The characters are very well drawn. The narrator, Jason Carpenter, was absolutely fabulous. Once I started listening I couldn't stop until I'd finished. My only complaint was the use of the F word. Is it really necessary?

Ooh! The books sound fabulous! I adore audio books and used to listen to them more when the kids were younger, and took naps, and I didn't have to worry about them listening in. These days I find it hard to listen to them, but the other day I thought about getting while driving in the car WITHOUT kids. Ah!!!

Thank you, Crystal! I've found I can listen in the car without kids around too, otherwise they want their music. Although, my girls loved listening to Harry Potter as well, and then we looked for excuses to take a ride in the car! I've recently discovered that letting the reader tell me a bedtime story is really nice. I listen until I'm tired and then I pause it. It actually helps me fall asleep faster!

I believe I'd enjoy audible books since I have an hour drive to work in the mornings and an hour drive home again each evening- It would fill the time with a lovely story.

You're welcome, Marcia! And thank you for the kind words about my series! :)

I love listening to audiobooks because they are so wonderful for making a long drive pass quickly. I've found that the 5 hour drive to my specialist passes in a blink when I'm engrossed in a great audiobook. I have to remember to select a book long enough for the entire 10-hour round trip or I'm disappointed when I still have hours to go with no book. Of course, if it's too long, I'll be stuck wanting to finish it...ah the dilemmas of having a good book.

Sounds like my books will be perfect for your long drives, Michelle. Fateful is 10 hours and 20 minutes long. And Fractured is just under 10 hours. Two trips covered. ;)

I like them because it makes the drive to work and on vacation go faster.

I just got my very first audio book last month. It was gifted to me by the author M. Terry Green. It was the first book in the Techno-shaman series. I loved it. I didn't know how convenient it would be, or how exciting they could make it sound. I will definitely be buying more.

We've listened to quite a few audio books. We liked The Fablehaven series, but our favorite is the Harry Potter series. We were able to buy the whole series on audiobooks for $50. Someone was selling them and we jumped on that offer. Your book looks awesome and my teen daughter would take it from me before I'd have a chance to listen to first. Thanks for the chance!

I love audiobooks. Darynda Jones' Charley Davidson series is great on audiobook. Thanks.

I listen to audiobooks as I do housework and walking. I like to experiment listening to different genres and authors.

I don't listen to audiobooks because of the voices usually. I am hearing deficient and the womens' voices they usually have on the discs really sound awful to me. I must say though, that I was pleasantly surprised to hear the male voice when I pushed play. I could hear him clearly and I found it very pleasant to listen to. I would enjoy listening to him!

Unknown said...

Cindy, thank you so much for your comment! I love hearing your perspective. I actually agree with you. I'm not a fan of female readers as the higher pitch grates on my ears. I'm so glad you enjoyed the samples and I really do think Tristan will convert you. A soothing male voice is one I can listen to for hours... Also, I wanted to let you know that I have a reader who is deaf, and she loves the audiobooks, or rather, she loves Tristan's voice too, as well as what he's done with my stories. xoxo

I'm totally going to check out Darynda Jones' Charley Davidson series now. Thank you for mentioning it, Jana!

Sheila, I hope both you and your daughter get to enjoy the Fateful series on audio. We were huge fans of the Harry Potter series too, but so far we've only read Fablehaven. Now I'm going to check that out on audio too, so thank you for mentioning it!

Everyone else, thank you for visiting my blog and commenting. And I see a theme with listening in the car. I seriously do love being able to enjoy a book when I can't be reading. Good luck, everyone! xoxo

I'm a big fan of audiobooks as they let me knit as I listen. I have also gone outside my comfort zone, trying out new-to-me authors via audiobooks. Some of my favorite listens this year have been Among Others by Jo Walton, The Martian by Andy Weir, and M. R. Forbes' Ghosts & Magic series.

I am new at audio books but I'm enjoying that I can be surfing the internet or checking emails while listening to a book.
Thanks for the chance.
