One of my jobs is to help Cheri spread the word about her books and help her build that fan base. So the other day I came across this website called Ereader News Today. The webmaster has posted this link as a way for authors to promote themselves. What I like about this site is that he has some rules. These rules are as follows:
- Must be available on Amazon - The large majority of Cheri's sales come from here, so that's perfect.
- Must have a rating of 4.0 or higher on Amazon - Cheri's overall rating is just a bit over 4.0. And all of you deserve a BIG THANK YOU for writing a review. I can't begin to tell you how much Cheri really appreciates a good review.
- Needs to have at least 5 ratings/reviews - It's hard to get fans to write reviews. It's even hard to get 5 or more great reviews.
- Must cost 99 cents or less. - We've kept Fateful at 99 cents for a while. Mainly because we want to build a fan base. We'll likely raise it someday....we'll see.
These rules help protect both the readers and the writers. For the readers, you are only going to see books that cost 99 cents but have good reviews. For an author, you'll be exposed to a bunch of people and the webmaster does an excellent job at promoting your book for you.
The Facebook page has over 25,000 followers. Then his website has subsections for Free Books, Bargain Books and the Book of the Day.
